COLD WEATHER CAMPING IS FUN,
IF YOU ARE PREPARED!
Wear:
- 2 pairs of wool socks
- Hat
- Mittens
- Scarf or neck muff
- Warm, waterproof boots rated -20 or colder– large enough to fit over 2 pairs of socks! Look for the wool content, on the label
- Water repellent pants
- Thermal underwear
- Layer all your clothes
Bring:
- Extra wool socks – Moreno wool does not itch, the more wool content the better
- Extra mittens
- Extra hat
- Hand/toe warmers (buy them at Sports Authority, CVS, Walmart)

Extra Thermal underwear

Space blanket to put under your sleeping bag
- Foam or Thermarest ground/bed pad (the Troop has some to lend)

Cold Weather sleeping bag (rated 0° or colder)
Sleeping bags can be rented from REI in Norwalk or EMS in Stamford/Fairfield at a reasonable cost
Be prepared! If you are not properly prepared, you will be sent home!
